There was chaos at the town meeting held earlier this morning in Amity.
The room was abuzz as anxious business owners awaited news of how Chief Brody would address this week's shark attacks.
He announced that extra summer deputies were being called in and that shark spotters would be instated. His final announcement, that to close the beaches for 24 hours, was met with hysteria from the crowd.
To witnesses, it appeared that even the mayor was dismayed by this decision.
Dependent on the summer months to make their income, Amity business owners fear that closing the beaches will be devastating for tourism.
A fishmerman named Ben Quint was eager to capitalize on these fears and offered to kill the shark for $10,0000.
"For that you'll get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing," he said before making his exit.
